Sixteen92: Yellow Cake Batter, Tres Leches Cake 2019 Review

The first of Sixteen92's Anniversary exclusive scents, in Aura Room and Linen Mists in 2oz and the Anniversary Exclusive scent in 6mL perfume oil.

Tres Leches Cake - Fluffy white cake soaked in sweet milk and drizzled with dulce de leche

Wet: The delicious buttery caramel goodness of dulce de leche, very reminiscent of the opening Wouldst Thou Like the Taste of Butter (Hexennacht) with a hint of something nutty.

Dried down: A base of warmed, buttery caramel, but the hint of 'nuttiness' is still hanging around, which smells a little bit like the warmed milk - I don't often experience the 'spoiled milk' scent, but this smells like a hint of spoiled milk with a touch of too much plastic. On the upside, this isn't very noticeable unless I lean in and really huff this scent.
Personally, I don't mind this but I prefer the dulce de leche scent in Wouldst a little better.

Perfect for: Anyone who loves dulce de leche - and want more of it for layering.

Yellow Cake Batter - Rich & buttery birthday cake batter with rainbow sprinkles

Wet: the delicate creamy sweetness of angel cake, loads of buttercream and a sprinkle of sparkling sugar.

Dried down: Retains the same beautiful rich vanilla, I just imagine a whole slice of angel cake, frosted with a little too many layers of buttercream and a very small scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
I really like this one, it's a simple straightforward, realistic and indulgent sweet cake scent and can't wait to layer this.

Perfect for: Cake lovers - this is basically exactly what it says it is. If this was an EDP I'd snatch it up instantly.

They Fucking Forgot my Birthday - Wedding cake, orange blossom honey, burned sugar, soft vanilla musk, unlit birthday candles, would you stop feeling sorry for yourself?

Wet: A blast of orange blossom honey, a beautiful light rendition of it - which smells very similar to honeysuckle with a faint haze of vanilla sugar.

Dried down: The orange blossom stays strong and true, but the honey is more of a light floral infused syrupy sweetness as a compliment to the soft vanilla musk - and despite my typical aversion to musk, I don't hate this at all. To me, this is like arriving at a party decked out in flowers - the aroma of orange blossom and honeysuckle gratuitously placed on every corner, with a tiny portion of vanilla and buttercream cake and a little smidge of candle wax on the frosting.
The projection for this scent is on the low side, and the longevity runs around 4-5 hours on my skin.

Perfect for: Those who wanted a slightly sweeter rendition of The Garden Party - This is a nice balance of 50:50 on florals and cake, and never pulls too sickly. Or anyone looking for a sweetened vanilla base with honeysuckle/orange blossom top notes.
