Andromeda's Curse Summer 2019: Kismet and Patisserie Review

Kismet - White Chocolate covered Raspberries with Raspberry Leaf Garnish & Creamy Vanilla

Wet: Raspberry syrup, crushed raspberries, fizzy raspberry soda. It almost borders on boozy, but doesn't turn sharp on my skin.

Dried down: More of the creamy vanilla starts to peak through to compliment the raspberry, like fluffy whipped clouds of vanilla bean. In this stage, the raspberry slowly shifts into a slightly tart, green note to a tamer, indistinct berry note while retaining a tinge of fizziness - however I noted that on my skin the white chocolate is strangely absent even after a few trials.
This feels more like an iced, raspberry with vanilla syrup soda perfect for a summer night at a restaurant by the beach rather than the more decadent Valentine's chocolate boxes that I was expecting, but nevertheless it's a lovely rendition of a lighter, refreshing summer scent.

Perfect for: Raspberry soda fans - this is the expensive bar's signature version though.

Pâtisserie - Pistachio Macarons, Cotton Candy, Tea Roses, Jasmine, White Tea, Brown Sugar

Wet: This is all almond, which straddles the fence of amaretto, with a good dose of white floral - to me it smells a little more like tuberose, but the notes are listed as jasmine, so I assume the freshness of the white tea might be shifting the floral a little bit.

Dried down: The loud almond note is pretty much gone, and I get a faint sweetness that's both herbal and floral. The faint aroma of white tea and tea roses are a mixture of faint tannin, with a distinctly fresh brewed quality, yet there's just a hint of a white floral. During my wear, it grows increasingly floral - leaning towards a more bodied, and fuller jasmine with hints of intoxicating tobacco and crushed green stems. The scent remains relatively linear, with the floral becoming more dominant, as the tannic tea and hints of sugar continue as a quiet companion, giving a bit more of a gourmand twist on an otherwise floral fragrance.
The image of the luxurious French patisserie afternoon tea laden with macaron towers, tiny cakes and clouds of spun sugar aren't so prominent on my skin - what I get instead is the more modest, English garden afternoon tea, with a few too many cups of tea, an early splash of Amaretto and a few biscuits and sugar cubes.

Perfect for: Floral/Tea lovers. This feels like the Jasmine counterpart to all those "London Fog" scents, it's a good dose of jasmine, a good dose of herbal/aromatic tea with a good dash of syrup.
