Bifesta: Cleansing Sheet Review

When travelling, I am a huge fan of cleansing sheets/make up wipes. Yes, I am totally aware that it's definitely not the most eco-conscious way to go, but when you're stuck on any form of transport and you need to get your make up off, disposable wipes are a great option and super convenient when you need them.

I am a huge fan of the  Kose Softymo/Lachesca Makeup remover sheets, and for me, they're pretty much the Holy Grail of makeup remover sheets. However, due to the similar packaging, I accidentally ended up purcahsing the Bifesta cleansing sheet instead.

The product is a one-use, cleansing sheet for removing makeup. More information on the product:

Exfoliate your skin while removing makeup with these cleansing wipes from Mandom. The soft yet durable wipes gently remove long-wearing foundation, heavy eye makeup, debris and excess sebum from skin. It also removes blackheads with lactic acid and brightens skin with Vitamin C. Skin is left brighter, cleaner, more refined and refreshed after use. Each wipe measures 15cm x 20cm.
The cleansing sheets claim to:
Double-effect moisturizing cleansing factor: quickly spreads the cosmetics and dirt deep in the deep pores to the surface, ultimately achieving double cleaning.
The skin is more transparent: when removing makeup, it can also wipe off the aging skin surface and restore a smooth and transparent feeling.
At the same time remove makeup and moisturizing: contains lotion, remover and moisturize the skin, reduce friction on the skin.
Oversized soft makeup remover: one can remove the entire makeup.
The rubber cover of the bag is designed to prevent the cleaning paper from drying out and the last one to remain moist.
In the morning, it is easy to change the cleaning and moisturizing steps.
Additionally, each specific type (bright up, moist, enrich) have different properties eg. Moist contains amino acids which help to moisturise the skin. Additionally, it claims that you don't need water after use as it will moisturise and clean effectively.

My thoughts:

Packaging: This is a pretty good, standard and sturdy package. With a plastic wrapper and a hard plastic top which you can open and close, it's great because it makes sure its sealed properly and that the sheets on the top aren't going dry. This is far better than the usual plastic glue slips.

Performance: This is an okay remover - it's above average in terms of performance from other brands I've tried. It does shift the makeup on your face if it's light, but it's not great for heavy duty makeup, especially if you're wearing thicker, cream based products with setting powder. and tends to just smear makeup across the face and wipes off the surface This also doesn't really remove heavy duty eyeliners or mascaras very well. Despite their claim of not needing water, I always need to double cleanse with these sheets. I also really dislike the tacky residual feeling from this formula.

Overall: On the plus side, sometimes I experience skin reactions/irritation with certain brands and their removers, but this is not too bad, however, most of the time, I really just feel like this isn't a very effective remover. It tends to have a tendency to smear makeup across your face instead of breaking it down (especially compared to Softymo's formula), and this seems to be the case across not just their makeup wipes, but their makeup remover formula in general (eg. their Eye Makeup remover, Cleansing Lotion.).
Personally speaking, I can't really recommend Bifesta, despite its strange popularity and ubiquitous presence in every Sasa due to the overall mediocre performance of the cleansing sheets.

Pricing and Accessibility:  I purchased this from a Japanese drugstore, and it is ¥483 for 46 sheets (in comparison, the Softymo are¥502 for 50 sheets.) This is usually standard to all drug stores (as they have recommended prices for most items so it'll be the same no matter which place you buy from). The BiFesta however, are far more prevalent than the Softymo ones, and are usually available at most, if not all Japanese drug stores. If you are in a place with a SaSa, these are also often available there too.

Due to the lack of international/domestic travel recently - You can purchase this from most places which stock Japanese skincare products, but if there's not one near you, I recommend Yesstyle as they're a reliable retailers. However, it seems to be super expensive on the site (almost triple the price), whereas this site sells for $10 USD. In this case, I'd definitely recommend checking out some options on Google for trustworthy sites - or even sometimes some reliable second hand sales on eBay or Amazon.
