7 Virtues: Buttercream Haze Review
Buttercream Haze: A decadent vanilla perfume that’s good enough to eat. Notes of buttercream icing, maple caramel crème, and whipped vanilla melt into tonka bean for a delicious long-lasting fragrance scent to savor slowly.
For me, this scent isn't quite the decadent treat they promise - the opening is strangely fruity and zesty (almost reminding me of Kerosene's Unknown Pleasures?) considering it's supposed to be a vanilla/caramel scent, but I enjoy this vastly more after dry down, although the scent goes interestingly popcorn adjacent, it's a little more nutty and even saltier than the description would have you believe, especially with the headiness of the sandalwood in the base. This scent is definitely also gives off more of a hot cakes/plain pancakes quality, with just the barest edge of salty butter and the faintest touch of caramel. While I quite enjoy this scent, I'm not sure I love the price tag considering the softness of this scent, although I'd say I think this is what I thought Afternoon Delight (Maison Margiela) would have been, a buttery madeline with a touch of vanilla, bready baked saltiness and a touch of sandalwood. I think I definitely wish this one was a little sweeter, but I can see it being great for layering, and I definitely wouldn't be mad at a sample of this at a discounted price point.
