Astrid: Carrot Cake Petit Four Review

I have long adored the Astrid gourmands, and the birthday collection is one of my absolute favorites to look forward to. While I still haven't gotten around to reviewing the others, this is one from the 2024 collection.

Carrot Cake Petit Four - Dainty miniature carrot cakes with a layer of cream cheese through the center.

I am obsessed with this scent - it is so deeply delicious on so many levels I can't even explain! Having tried a few carrot cake scents (including the raved about Rabbit from Zoologist which falls so far short of a hyperrealistic carrot cake scent), this is by far my favorite and the most accurate. On opening, this one gives the most wonderful creamy tangy of cream cheese, smeared on top of a warm slice of carrot cake, before drying down to a more spice heavy, warm blend of walnuts and cinnamon, clove soaked carrot cake. While this one is a little more heavy on the spice after having given it some time to rest and breathe, it's only more apparent after really deeply huffing this scent, but the scent cloud isn't quite as sharp and noticeable, and it much more mellowed out and nice from a distance. I can only say, this is a lovely, foodie interpretation of a spiced carrot cake with a touch of cream cheese, and is fantastically delicious and flavorful - I'm almost tempted to lick my hand every time I apply this one on my hand. I would absolutely upsize this one if I had the chance - it's truly lovely.
