Palm Beach: Mango Meringue Room Spray (Review)

For some reason, Australian Christmases always tend to have some meringue based dessert - and a lot of Christmas limited edition scents will pay homage to it. I can't complain about it - I really love an Eton Mess and would probably have one every day if it was permissible.

Palm Beach is a local Australian brand, they predominately sell candles, but they also have a few diffusers, body products, and room mists as well.

Mango Meringue is sold as both a candle and a room mist, but the notes are the same:

Top: mango, passionfruit, orange, tropical, creamy

Heart: fruity, passionfruit, ice cream

Base: creamy vanilla

I absolutely love the opening of this scent - the mango accord in this scent is spot on, the scent of mango juice and freshly cut mangos (and they're in season right now!). I absolutely love how fresh and sweet the mango is, and paired with the zingy sweetness of the passionfruit (which is far more syrupy than sour), it's a gorgeous refreshing opening of summer fruits. Dry down happens around 15-20 minutes in, and the mango takes a back seat to the almost creamsicle like note of orange and vanilla. The meringue here features as more of a faint, creamy laconic sweetness, but paired with the mild citrus, the last bite of mango and passionfruit syrup here, 'Mango Meringue' is definitely the perfect name for it.

I really enjoy this scent - and I'd really love to see Palm Beach actually keep this as a permanent offering in their catalogue. They only have a very limited amount of room sprays that are more foodie/gourmand blends, so I really appreciated having a fruity gourmand here as a spray option.

For a room spray, this isn't very concentrated with a relatively low sillage, so I'd recommend spraying this quite liberally, and perhaps on a greater surface area if you'd like to really get the scent to cover the whole room.
